According to my recent interaction with the folks at RepairManuals.com, Yamaha has outsourced their printing to Crestec, which is the company being dealt with at YamahaPubs.com. The manuals I received from RepairManuals.com, printed in the USA (presumably, therefore, by Crestec), had very poor quality images. On the other hand, the owner's manual I ordered directly from YamahaPubs (a.k.a. Crestec) had a Genuine Yamaha wrapper and was of very high quality, an original print from the early 90's. | |||

Some R1 exhausts are a direct swap. Others require adaptation.

Front Suspension Lubrication
The dreaded front-end squeak. If you hear the squeak, the bearings in the front swingarm should be disassembled and lubed as soon as possible. If this isn't done in a timely manner, the bearings will eat themselves and are quite costly to replace.
